After attending a Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA) “friendraiser”, OPI Product’s co-founder Suzi Fischmann was compelled to find a way to help. So, in 2009, OPI – the nail lacquer company known best for fun, irreverent color names – became LCFA’s first corporate sponsor, and BreatheLIFE was born.

The campaign centers around a custom-designed nail polish shade of sheer, silvery blue, first introduced in ’09, and reintroduced again in April this year.  The tagline “The truth can leave you breathless” speaks to many little known facts about lung cancer and its devastating consequences. For instance, LCFA projects that by 2009, lung cancer will have annually killed three times as many men as prostate cancer and twice as many women as breast cancer.
